In any discussion of agricultural transformation in Turkey, it is necessary to establish that agriculture has been a dynamic sector, especially during the last two decades, It is true that the social organisation -the mode of production- does not seem to have undergone the (mistakenly) expected changes. This, however, does not indicate a stagnation or 'blockage'. Agricultural production may increase with significant technological change and greater integration into the social division of labour despite the persistance of small family farms. Unlike in industry, larger scale does not necessarily imply increasing efficiency in agriculture. (Kitabın Girişinden)
