The king of Athens, Kodros, had a brave son named Androklos. Androklos was a nature lover and used to hunt and sail with his father. He would often look upon the shores of Asia Minor and its islands with wonder and curiosity. He was overwhelmed with a desire to conquer these beautiful, windblown places of civilization. One day his desire became so overpowering that he and his friends prepared to set sail on o voyage of conquest. In the face of his strong faith, Artemis and Poseidon could not resist helping him; while Artemis blew into his sails, the sea god Poseidon calmed the seas.
